Youth summer

8.-15. JULY 2022

UngSommer is an opportunity for young people to come together during the summer holidays for a week of activities, worship, teaching and of course good Danish fun - all with God at the centre!

Experience a week of worship, in-depth teaching, challenges, adventure and fellowship at Mariager Højskole. UngSommer is Denmark's coolest camp mainly for young people aged 17½-25, but we have a lot of older people with us - and also married couples and some little babies too 😉

The dream of Young Summer is that young people's hearts may be set on fire for God - that they may love and serve him with all they are and all they have. We want to know God and make Him known. We look forward to seeing you!

This year the theme is MAKE ROOM, under the Summer Camp theme GRO. We want to focus on what it takes in everyday life for us to grow personally and as a community. In addition, we want us young people to not only have a week of space to feel and experience God, but to have it be something that we can take home and last throughout the year.

SEMINARS

SATURDAY

Resurrection and Suffering
David Jakobsen

What are the arguments for taking Jesus' resurrection seriously and what are the implications and challenges for someone going through suffering to deal with the rational basis of the resurrection.

Is God doing miracles today?
Victoria Due and Simon Krath Andersen

We will explore whether healings belonged only to the time of Jesus or if it is something we can see today. With a theological, personal and practical approach to emmet, we want to give new hope to God in this area and equip you to see people healed.

Evolutionary creation?
Mikael Iversen

How is belief in the truthfulness of the Bible combined with the doctrine of evolution? Does one reject the other, or can faith and science be combined. A seminar that opens up the Genesis account of creation, science's theories of evolution and the New Testament's doctrine of salvation.

Leadership
Simon Linde

The world needs a generation of young leaders who will leave their mark, shape the agenda, and give of themselves for a cause greater than the naked eye can see. Join us for a seminar where we will put leadership into words and help each other to become great leaders.

SUNDAY

Postmodern Apologetics
David Jakobsen

Christianity today is challenged by arguments that straddle ethics, philosophy and politics, and is at its core based on a reckoning with the concept of truth and knowledge assumed in biblical Christianity. Learn about the historical origins of the challenges and look at what answers can be given when faith meets society.

Evolutionary creation?

(Continued from Saturday)

How did the Bible come into being?
Peter Makovini

What is the prehistory of the most read book ever? How did the Bible come into being? Where do the ideas and words come from? Who and by what criteria decided which books should (not) be part of the Bible? Why do different denominations have different books in their Bibles?

Leadership
Simon Linde

(continued from Saturday)

TUESDAY

Sent across borders with hope
Christoffer Vilky

How are you sent in 2022? We focus specifically on working for justice and peace for people living under poverty and oppression around the world. Be inspired by other young people's stories from Kenya/Lebanon and hear about opportunities to go yourself.

End of the world or UN SDGs?
Leif Petterson

The end times and the time of Jesus' return is one of the most complicated theological topics. But, while we discuss topics like the rapture, the millennium, and Jesus' second coming, climate change, social inequality, and war are destroying the world we know. Has God left the debate or should we engage with the world we live in now?

Why do people drop out?
Jonathan Bisgaard

Understand how a post-Christian culture eats Christians for breakfast, why it's crucial to talk about and what the Bible, history and theology can teach us about how to relate.

Young and Christian
Rasmus Jonstrup

How do you tell your non-Christian friends that you are a Christian? How should you deal with drinking and partying? And how do you cope in a performance culture where more and more young people are going down with stress?

Sex and relationships
Johannes & Else-Marie Hansen

WEDNESDAY

The Bible and the Red Thread of Salvation
Ditte Berner

The Bible is God's gift to us, but it can also be difficult to understand. In this seminar we will talk about the need to know God's Word. We will dive into the common thread of the Bible and look at how all the books form a coherent story that points to Jesus.
